Puglia has some magnificent scenery and we will have the chance to go out and about with our cameras, handbag printers (Maggie will have) and sketchbooks to soak it all up. The delightful houses of Trulli (see right) have already made an appearance in Maggie's sketchbook below. |

The faded fresco showing The Three Graces was the inspiration for the texile below, left. This is a work in progress and the laminated background will be worked up to complement the figures which will stand proud. The course will involve lots of mixed media with both hand and machine stitching. You won't have to take your sewing machine - they're already there. Further inspiration can be seen below, right.

When we've worked on our sketchbooks, we will come up with textiles which may be figurative or, perhaps, based on landscape, buildings or isolated abstracts. Make a panel or wall hanging, or maybe a book like the one shown right. The course is almost full so book quickly at Masseria della Zingara. Maggie would love to see you and it's going to be a fantastic time. |
